Google Chrome OS - Linux based and open source
Google plans to make it open source
Thinking is browser is all you need, with emergence of SaaS - google docs, gmail etc. So why not build the OS to support the browser rather than browser being one of the little things on the OS.
Chrome will run on multiple platforms incl being the mobile OS
Will be small, lightweight and fast
